Project Name:El derecho de los pueblos originarios a la educacion: Avanzando hacia una efectiva libre determinación [The Right of Indigenous Peoples to Education: Advancing Towards Effective Self Determination]
Partners: Fundación Equitas
Summary:This project is focused on Indigenous self-determination in the area of education in Chile and has three parts: Part I seeks to identify education projects that Indigenous organizations are carrying out in Chile to provide a better picture of what is happening on the ground; Part II is the production of multiple case studies focusing on Indigenous initiatives related to education, analyzed in light of the right to Indigenous self-determination; and Part III is the creation of online and paper resources that will provide Indigenous leaders access to information about ongoing education projects undertaken by Indigenous organizations throughout Chile.

Project Name:Derechos Territoriales y Redistribución de Recursos Públicas: Aprendizajes desde prácticas subnacionales [Territorial Rights and the Redistribution of Public Resources: Lessons from Practice]
Partners: Inovación Ciudadana
Summary:The final version of this project will include a publication that consists of six case studies focusing on citizen innovation, where citizens have effected a positive change in their community at a grass roots level, with a particular focus on land rights issues. Three of those six case studies will focus on Indigenous peoples in Chile. Project ISD's main contribution is a case study examining Atacameña communities the co-administer a number of sites within the Reserva Nacional Los Flamencos.

Summary:This is a forthcoming paper that seeks to offer a practical definition of self-determination and analyzes Chilean law to answers the question: "What spaces for Indigenous self determination exist in Chile today?"
